Waves
Ok so this is last waves after it went on shore, so it doesn`t look like much but i had to post one shot just to prove that we did get waves in Japan.
Tenri
Our stay at Tenri was like something from a movie, like nothing either of us had ever experienced. At the epicentre of this town lays the Sanctuary, an enormous and beautiful temple which houses the Jiba, which is the exact spot where it is believed that God created man kind. Every morning just before sun rise at about 5am, the majority of the town would flock to morning prayer, draped in their black robes and full of smiles and bows. Prayer consisted on about 45 minutes on your knees bowing, humming songs you cant sing and learning 200 year old hand dances with more meaning than we could have fathomed. Afterward at 6.30 its back to our dormitory kitchen for dried fish, rice and seaweed mmm. In the evening right on sunset at 7pm we do the same thing again.
It was so peaceful at Tenri we really got to sit back and absorb our experiences not only at the temple but over the past 3 weeks, whether we were sitting in our room listening to the Bamboo sway outside or skipping prayer to have beers on the roof and what ch the sunset. We learnt some invaluable lessons in Tenri and met some inspiring new friends who will not be forgotten.

Yohey`s Quiver
Kookbox
Yohey told me that a good friend of his is in the process of launching a new brand called KOOKBOX, and that i should check it out. Once i did i found that he`d modestly failed to mention that he was doing so in along with Joel Tudor..
Apparently Joel had a falling out with his previous brand `Joel Tudor` there was court action and all that nonsense and Joel decided to ditch them all together and do something more grass roots and less corporate thus Kookbox was born..

Japan`s Miami
The locals along the Shonan coast where we are staying like to think of this place as Japan`s Malibu. There are subtle hints everywhere, like I dont know.. the California state flag flying out side your Hawaiian theme `bar and grill`!
Or the local Hobie Alter surf shop.
They do have the dirty water and consistently small swell.
Here's the local bachelor strutting his stuff along the beach.
One thing i will say is that the surfers here have an enthusiasm for surfing and surf culture that i have rarely seen before. This is a picture of Donald Takayama on Yohey`s wall resting next to his original Skip Frye single fin and below is his Hawaiian pro design Takayama.
And they will surf in anything! Try telling this guy that its getting dark and there hasn`t been a wave come through since lunch time..

Sunset
Enoshima
Big day in Harajuku
Yesterday we caught the subway down to Harajuku and saw some really cool stuff.
The busiest intersection in the world.
It took us about an hour to get down Takeshit street.
Kaillan fell in love.
there where hundreds of these prayer cards hung inside the temple.
We crashed a Japanese wedding
g g g g g g g....
g g g grease Lightning!
After some sunset beers in the park we went to a Japanese rege festival and where everybody was full of free love and Bob Marley songs played all night long.
