Bush Barrel

I saw this on Dane Peterson's new blog and at the risk of regurgitating someone elses work, i just had to share it. Someone at Ryobi has a sense of humor, and i like it.

Stubby 3

Second lam coat. A little extra bush pepper on account of glassing outside but otherwise not too bad.

Good times

The surf wasn't great but everyone was having fun. I can't think of a much better way to start the day.

The Stubby 2

I spent some quality time with sand paper and planer today and finished shaping the stubby. Its a really nice feeling, to see and hold something that has has, until now, only existed in a little corner of your brain.
I even got to slap on a double six on the top before dark, a white pigment with just a few drops of apple green.

Wax & Water

My good friend Karl begun his documented 56 days of surfing this week.
See how he goes here.

The Stubby

There's a board that iv'e been itching to play with, itching to ride, and itching to own. An arc tail, hull bottom Stubby. However i have only ever seen them on blogs and vids. So after wrestling with the outline for a while and grabbing lines from different boards i began shaping today.

Weekenders

Sage making the best of some average conditions on the weekend.

Shop Blog

Speaking of the shop, i've created Alpine Beach a little blog of their own.
Check it out at www.aplinebeach.blogspot.com

Valla Surfboards

Sage, Jack and Brett dropped into the store to with some shinny new presents.
Sage's boards look great and feel even better under your arm, well done Sage.

Old Friends

I found these two boards under my friends house last week.
One is a 5'8" Barry Bennett single with fluted fliers, the other a 5'6" Crozier flex tail knee board with a beautiful sweeping flex fin. Pure Summer Lovin Fun

Early bird, No worms

Unfortunately there wasn't many waves to be had on this morning but its always nice to be down there just to watch the sun climb out of the water and throw that orange light across the waves.

Like two sessions in one day

early low tide

later hi tide, go figure..

Sweet Sweet Swell

Dean locks in at a local favorite.

New Wheels

I Found this interesting old shot on a friends wall of the S.S.Wollongbar not long after it had run aground at Byron.

Strath is just full of bright ideas.
Dean shows some hospitality to the latest boat people.
and shows karl how to 'jedi mind trick' down a troublesome section.

Dustin F scores some early morning sliders all to himself.
