After a monster overnight drive we arrived at the northern tip of Portugal at 4 in the morning. After a few hours sleep crammed in the van we where greeted by what we soon learnt was a very typical Portuguese summer day: dry, scorching hot and not a cloud to be seen (a pleasant change from the volatile wintery conditions we just left behind in Spain). But we soon found out that the water was ice cold!
We went 5 days in Portugal with no swell but there was no complaints. The route south along the coast is textured with charming little towns, cobblestone roads and beautiful beaches. And yesterday we scored some fun little waves at a cool little beach called Molho Leste at Peniche, and the water is slowly warming up as we dribble our way down the coast.
